50 Things to Eat Before You Die
Or in this case, 5 things to eat before you die, although I really could come up with 50 things. This is officially the first meme for us here at Vin de Table, thanks to The Traveller’s Lunchbox, I read the BBC article and have eaten 43 of the 50, and arguably eaten most of those before the age of 10! The list just needs to be more specific. Anyway, here are my top 5. A couple have already been had, and I enjoyed the experience so much, I need to do it again.
1. A Pierre Herme macaron
2. Breakfast at the Four Season’s Sayan, Bali
3. Fresh truffles on scrambled eggs in truffle season
4. Tasting menu at Cordeillan Bages, Pauillac, France
5. Tasting menu at French Laundry, Yountville, California
Picking 5 from a possibility of hundreds was tough, and I suspect that these 5 would change depending on my current head space (right now, I apparently need a vacation), but there you have it. Food bloggers, please send The Traveler’s lunchbox a note with your top 5, and everyone else, I’d love to hear yours.

i have done two from your list, but although I live in the Bay area, and I am obsessed with food, the French Laundry is something that I have still never done.

[...] At some points in time and space, one exists in completely different realities than others. The praise for the 2 Michelin star Cordeillan Bages is so universal and glowing that the awarding of its eventual 3rd star (next year?) will just be a formality. This tidal wave of support and enthusiasm should have been an ominous warning - Pic was another 2 star restaurant from my trip last May that just received its much anticipated 3rd star. [...]
